ChatGPT is “more direct, less verbose” thanks to the OpenAI project.

A new era of contact has begun with a significant upgrade to OpenAI’s well-known AI conversationalist, ChatGPT.

OpenAI has revealed an enhanced version of ChatGPT that is only accessible to premium users who are registered in the ChatGPT Plus, Team, or Enterprise tiers. This enhanced version makes use of GPT-4 Turbo’s capabilities and offers improvements in a number of areas, including writing, math processing, logical reasoning, and coding. Known as “gpt-4-turbo-2024-04-09,” this model was trained on publicly available data until December 2023, allowing it to include a more recent knowledge store. This is a major improvement over its predecessor, which expired in April 2023.

Conversational fluency will rise, directness will be preferred, and interactions with ChatGPT using the new GPT-4 Turbo will be more brief, according to OpenAI. This update follows closely on the heels of the recent release of OpenAI’s API, which brought new features like GPT-4 Turbo with Vision, allowing picture understanding in addition to text-based capabilities.

But even in the middle of these innovations in AI, OpenAI has faced some negative coverage. Microsoft’s interest in using OpenAI’s DALL-E text-to-image model for military purposes was brought to light by revelations made by The Intercept. The Information also revealed internal turmoil, including the firing of two researchers, one of whom was an associate of top scientist Ilya Sutskever. These occurrences highlight the difficulties of managing the nexus between cutting-edge technology and moral considerations and coincide with a period of increased scrutiny for OpenAI.
